Main topic: “No Better Time Than Now”

TEDxPrague 2012, subtitled “No Better Time Than Now”, follows the last year’s ReStart which inspired the audience to a new start. During the conference, the speakers will attempt to knock down the barriers and limits sessioning the human activity. Together with the audience, they will discover the tools that will change their thinking and they will also present their success stories about how they didn’t wait for anything and just acted. The conference programme will be enriched with inspiring TEDTalks videos and performances by local artists.

“TEDxPrague means inspiration and a new point of view to me. I’m delighted that Prague will come alive with this exceptional conference and an amazing range of local and foreign speakers will convince the audience there is really nothing to wait for,” says Petr Maňas, the successful coach and new leader of the TEDxPrague team.

The conference will be held in Czech with simultaneous interpretation into English.

“The desire for adventure and the inability to enter the unknown was my issue. Perhaps we’ll hear the essential truth that wisdom may be both in activity and prudence. I’m looking forward to provocation and the cleansing pain from the finding that many things are still a little differently than I thought,” says Samuel Titěra, the guide of the first programme session.

2. session: How to Get Going

Guide: Juraj Jonek

“Many of us want to do things in a better, more effective, faster way to manage as much as possible. We’re constantly thinking about the past and future and we’re making plans not to miss anything. Some people live more, enjoy their lives and are in a less hurry; they have a sense of presence and know that less means sometimes more. In this session we’ll try to discover the right mix and the tools we’ll be able to use anytime we want,” says Juraj Jonek,
the guide of the second programme session.

3rd session: The Heroes around Us

Guide: Matěj Novák

Speakers:

  • Renata Chmelová
  • Mikuláš Kroupa
  • Anna Dolejší – singing
  • Jan Kremláček
  • Jeremy Dabor
  • Ivana Málková

“I often meet people whose life story I truly respect. They’ve decided for something and thanks to their commitment, they’ve managed to do remarkable things. They’ve changed their surroundings, they’ve built something, and they’ve succeeded. These people don’t have any special talents or magical abilities, but this fact makes their stories even more valuable – they show that each of us can do great things, if we decide for something and try to make it happen. I‘m glad we’ve managed to bring these people to TEDx where they can inspire more people,” says Matěj Novák, the guide of the third programme session.
